2011 Ducks 4 Buck$ - Rules, Regulations & other Legal Stuff.
We don’t like rules either but we have to be fair. So here they are. 1. Everyone who “adopts” a duck must have fun and NO WHINING is allowed. 2. The Rotary Club of Shorewood will be known as “the organizer”, “the club” or “RCoS” from now on the list of rules. 3. A minimum of 5000 “ducks” will be released into the DuPage River at the Seil Road bridge on Saturday, August 27th, 2011 at approx. 4:14 p.m. 4. The race course will be established by the members of the “RCoS”. 5. Once the ducks are “swimming” no one is allowed to interfere with any of the ducks. 6. Only “RCoS” Race Officials will have the right to move redirect ducks during the race if they see fit. 7. All of the ducks will be provided by and remain the property of the “RCoS”. 8. All ducks will have a number that corresponds to a number on an adoption document. The person’s name on the adoption document will be awarded the appropriate prize. 9. Positive identification will be required to claim a prize. 10. A list of winners will be posted on www.Ducks4Bucks.com as soon a possible after the race. 11. Adoption documents must be completely filled out and be in the possession of the “RCoS” before the race starts. 12. The “RCoS” will attempt to notify all winners according to the information given on the adoption papers. Participants may also check winning ducks on www.Ducks4Bucks.com. It will be the ultimate responsibility of race winners to check the race results. 13. The winners will have 30 days to claim their prize or the “RCoS” will select another winner thru a random drawing of the remaining adoption documents. 14. No cash equivalent prizes will be awarded in lieu of the designated prize. 15. The “RCoS” reserves the right to substitute prizes of comparable value. The prize list is subject to change prior to race event. 16. All taxes, fees and registration of the prizes are the sole responsibility of the winner. 17. The “RCoS” is not responsible for any actions of a prize winner or disputes relating thereto. 18. All entrants hereby release and hold harmless Rotary International, District 6450, the Rotary Club of Shorewood, the officers, board members and all members of any part of the Rotary organization, including any family or friends of any Rotarian assisting with this event, from any and all liability. 19. All entrants consent to the promotional use of their names, likenesses and the use of his/her picture for promotional purposes without any additional compensation. 20. The use of these funds are at the sole discretion of the “RCoS” but will not be used for any non reimbursable expense to any member of the “RCoS”. 21. Chances of winning will be determined by the total number of entrants. 22. This event is subject to all local, state and federal laws and any regulations and is void where prohibited by law. 23. All decisions and interpretations of rules, regulations or other actions will be made by the “RCoS” and its judgment shall be final. 24. All logos and names are registered trademarks of the “RCoS” or its sponsors and cannot be used, copied or borrowed.
The MEGA PRIZE You know we would have to put this on the bottom so everyone would read the all the rules. Here is how this works. Before the race begins, 3 lucky duck numbers will be preselected by Odds On Promotions. If any of the 3 lucky duck places anywhere from 1st place thru 10th place in the race, the participant who adopted that duck will win the corresponding MEGA PRIZE. The 1st place number will receive $50,000; the second place number will receive $30,000; the 3rd place will receive $20,000. The prizes will be paid from Odds On Promotions, NOT the Rotary Club of Shorewood, its members, officers, friends, family or any other individual not associated with Odds On Promotions. The winner of any of the Mega Prizes WILL NOT receive any other prizes for their finish in the race, including the $2500 1st prize or the $1000 2nd prize or the $500 3rd prize. The “RCoS” hopes that this won’t disappoint you too much if you win one of the MEGA PRIZEs. The “RCoS” has no input in choosing the 3 lucky duck numbers, nor does it have input on how the prize is awarded. Odds On Promotions will be contacted following the race to determine if there is a MEGA PRIZE winner. Thank You & Good Luck.
